It is almost six years since I came to Christian Science, and I find in it a practical religion, meeting my every need every day, including physical, mental, spiritual, and financial difficulties. My heart goes out in grateful recognition to our great and noble Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her untiring labor to give to a weary world a spiritual interpretation of the sacred Scriptures which should be for the redemption of mankind from the curse of materialism. I had three supposedly incurable diseases, viz., lung, heart, and catarrhal trouble; consequently I was in constant fear of death, which resulted in distressing nervous condition and extreme melancholy. For about seven months before I found Christian Science, I feared the thought of self-destruction, when left alone. But thanks to a faithful friend, who pointed out to me the way to God through Christian Science, I was helped immediately. Nothing can erase from my memory the perfect peace and spiritual uplifting that I received with the first treatment. It was more wonderful than the physical healing, and I rejoice even in the suffering that led me to Christ, Truth. To any one who is discouraged, I would say, Never give up.

I have had glimpses of the promised land of harmony, but the path has not always been strewn with roses. I have stumbled and fallen, but always rose up stronger than before. Through the help of friends in Science, and my constant study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I am finding that the emergence out of mortal beliefs is a gradual process, and my heart's deep gratitude goes out to divine Love as the opening flower unfolds its petals to sun and shower. My daily prayer is that of the psalmist; "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

Mrs. Mary A. Denham, Minden, Neb.
