I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. A little over three years ago I had a bad fall from a wagon, but nothing serious developed until eighteen months afterward. I was treated by medical doctores for four months, being in bed over a third of this time, finally becoming so ill and suffering such intense pain that I was kept under the influence of an opiate most of the time. The doctores advised me to take treatment of an osteopath, which I did. He pronounced my disease a paralytic trouble. After being treated by this method for a year, I got so I could walk a little on crutches, a very few steps; and was wheeled in a chair when I became able to go out, but I seemed to stand still there, and was finally advised by a doctor to go to my aunt in Colorado, a Christian Science practitioner, who had been writing for me to come; but we had no faith in Christian Science. I, however, decided to go in July, and I took my first steps without help a week after I arrived. In two weeks I walked eighteen blocks with the aid of a cane, having to learn to walk again. I came home in October entirely well, and resumed my school work immediately. I have not missed a day on account of ill health since then, and I never felt better in my life, for which I thank God from the depths of my heart. I am also very grateful to our dear Leader for bringing this truth to suffering humanity.
