In the winter of 1904 I had a severe cold, which developed into acute throat trouble accompanied with the usual suffering of that disease. I managed to go to a Christian Science practitioner for the first treatment, but the next three days I seemed too ill to go out, and she came to me. I was so much better on the fourth day, which was Sunday, that I attended the services, which were then held at the practitioner's house. I remained through the afternoon, and received another treatment, then returned home, waking up the next morning perfectly healed of the trouble. This is but one of the many physical ills that have been overcome for me through Christian Science, but this is the first time I have succeeded in writing an acknowledgment of my indebtedness to God, and to our dear Leader, although I have often tried to do so in the past seven years. Before Christian Science came into my life I was in discord physically and mentally, also in domestic matters, and I longed to die to get away from it all, but through the understanding of Christian Science gained from studying the Bible and our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I have gradually come into peace and harmony, and am happy and thankful for the help I have received.
