I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is continually doing for me. For many years I was in a miserable condition of health, often suffering intensely, from stomach and bowel trouble, together with great nervousness, weakness, etc. I never felt perfectly well, and grew so much worse as the months and years passed on, that at last I seemed to spend most of the time in bed. I was also irritable and morbid, though I tried not to be so. Friends and physicians were all most kind, and did everything within their power to help me, but I continued to grow worse, and at last went to a sanitarium. There, too, the best and kindest care was given me, and after remaining nearly a year, I returned home enough improved to hope that with rest, care, and close attention to the laws of health I might live some time. It was, however, generally conceded that I had "no constitution to build upon" and could never be strong.

During my stay at the sanitarium a young lady who was visiting her mother there told me of her own wonderful healing by Christian Science from a crippled condition, which had confined her to her bed for a couple of years, to one of perfect health. She had been examined by many noted physicians, but all agreed that nothing could be done to help her. At last a friend urged her to try Christian Science, which at least could do her no harm. She did so, and in three weeks she was able to walk, to dance, to do all the things that she had done before this illness came upon her. Many other cases of healing were brought to my attention, and after my return home I went to a Scientist in Buffalo for help. I immediately felt the beauty of Christian Science, though my healing was somewhat protracted. That Christian Science is the truth I never doubted, so much of it becoming clear to my inquiring thought that what I could not then understand I could readily accept.

All this occurred many years ago. I can now understand clearly that "Mind governs the body, not partially but wholly" (Science and Health, p. III). I rejoice in health and strength of body, in a calm and happy outlook on men and things. Christian Science is enabling me to love God better, and to understand more of what is meant by the brotherhood of man. My thankfulness to the loving Father-Mother of all is greater than words can express. I feel, too, that the world can never be sufficiently grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who, regardless of self, is helping mankind to a clearer understanding of the grandeur, the infinitude, of God's love for His children, for His whole creation.—Mrs. Kate C. Bush, Buffalo, N. Y.
