I am a traveling salesman and have been for nearly fifteen years. I had acquired many of the habits and diseases to which traveling men are subject, having suffered from some of them for ten years or more. About a year ago I was obliged to abandon my trip and return home, on account of a severe attack of neuralgic troble and a general breakdown. I at once had medical treatment, also tried osteopathy, but with very unsatisfactory results. Having heard about Christian Science, I determined to see what it would do for me. I commenced treatment, and in three days returned to my business, feeling fine. Within a month I was entirely cured of chronic stomach and bowel trouble. Inside of two months I was able to lay aside my glasses, upon which I had been dependent for eight years.

Among other things which were overcome were the social drink habit and the worst form of the tobacco habit. For many years I had firmly believed that these social customs were a necessity in business, but this belief faded away, like all other forms of error, when faced by the truth, and it has given place to a much higher sense of business tact. It is surprising, but a fact, how many men are really glad not to be called upon to indulge in these vices. It is also a fact that a salesman can do more and better work without them. I find Science and Health an ever-ready companion and adviser, and reading it makes the evening in the hotel room the pleasantest part of the day.

For all these blessings I am indeed grateful to God, and to that noblest of women, Mrs. Eddy, who has made it possible for me to understand this truth.
