About six years ago, when a dreaded epidemic was raging here, I seemed to manifest some of the symptoms of the disease, and expressed a great deal of fear. as a number of my neighbors had been taken to the pest-house, at which place a great many had died. A practitioner was called to the house, and she stayed and talked with me about two hours, also giving me treatment. At the end of that time the extremely high fever and chills left; the next morning I was up and dressed, and by the afternoon I was perfectly well. I always considered this a wonderful demonstration and one to be very thankful for, as I thoroughly realized what I had escaped, according to the mortalmind way of thinking.

I would also like to tell of another demonstration of the power of Truth. Our little girl, then a babe of a year old, was taken very ill, as it seemed. My husband's people, not being in Science, had made me promise that if the baby was ill I would call a physician, and I did so; but they do not try to exact such promises now, and I would not make them if they did. A doctor was called, and he pronounced it a very bad case of lung trouble. He left some medicine for her to take, which I tried to force upon her; but she would not take it, and the illness seemed to be getting worse, which increased our fear. We then decided to call for Christian Science treatment. The trouble was overcome in an hour, and the next morning she was up playing. We are exceedingly grateful for the wonderful insight as to the "quick" workings of Truth, revealed in Christian Science, and have never called a doctor since that time for any one of us.
