THE LECTURES

At La Belle Theater Tuesday evening, Dec. 3, a lecture on Christian Science was given by Edward A. Kimball of Chicago, Ill. The lecturer was introduced by Mr. A. L. Scott, who said in part,—

To supply humanity's need, Christian Science comes to this material age declaring absolute dependence upon one God, one Christ, as the only salvation from sin, sickness, and death. It turns without reservation to the words and works of the Galilean Prophet, in proof of its every claim. That it heals the sick we know because we have proved it. That it casts out both sin and sickness, is the testimony of thousands. Many of us, after exhausting every material remedy, have as a last resort turned to Christian Science, thereby obtaining health and holiness—realizing as never before the ever-presence of divine Love; and having thus laid aside our materiality, in our enlightened consciousness we are made to exclaim in the language of doubting Thomas, "My Lord and my God."
