It is over twenty years since my parents found out what is man's true relation to God. My sister was then suffering with a nervous disorder in its worst form, and besides this her body was completely covered with an eruption. The doctors said that they could do nothing more for her, and that they had no hopes of her recovery, at least for years. One day a neighbor told my parents of Christian Science, saying that a cousin of his had been healed, and he also told them where to find a practitioner. He was not a Christian Scientist himself. My sister was taken to the practitioner, and in three weeks was healed. I had a very delicate constitution and sympathetic nature, and it seemed that I would have every ailment afloat. While my mother and sister were at the practitioner's, they received word that I was in a very critical condition, not expected to live. The practitioner treated me, and when my mother came home I was playing in the yard. My parents immediately procured a copy of Science and Health and began to study it with the Bible. They had been great Bible students and church workers, although they had not joined any church as they had not found any to satisfy them. Through reading Science and Health my father was very quickly relieved of three so-called incurable diseases, and my mother, who had suffered from the same disease that my sister had before we learned of this saving truth, has never had a touch of it since. I went with my parents when they were taking class instruction, and a serious throat trouble developed at this time. Their teacher was told, and after treatment the ailment instantly disappeared, so that they did not need to go home until the course was finished.

The words "pray without ceasing" seem clear and true in Christian Science. We pray when about our work, or at any time. I have found Christian Science very helpful in study or any kind of work I attempt. If I but "know" that God is an ever-present help, it throws a great light upon everything. When I was five years old a finger was severely injured, the end being taken off to the first joint. The non-believers in Christian Science prophesied that it would never grow again, but thanks to God my finger is whole, although it is not quite as long as the others. The summer before last I was at my sister's for several days, and while there I was attacked by a dreaded fever. I was brought home (this was on Monday), and on Wednesday noon I got up and went back to my sister. Thursday my brother fell from a scaffold (we were building a house near by), and he was carried into the house unconscious. For twenty minutes he did not seem to breathe; then he opened his eyes, asked what was the matter, and wanted to go to work. He had no pain, and by Saturday evening we were all entirely healed.

I cannot even begin to tell how grateful we are for the many blessings we have received through Christian Science. I am thankful that I was born in the age when this new yet old religion was brought to light through our beloved Leader's spiritual interpretation of the truth as found in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."—Alice Horton, Altoona, Pa.
