The beautiful edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, the gift to Concord Scientists of the Rev. Mary Baker G. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was crowded Thursday night [Oct. 15] on the occasion of the lecture by Judge Septimus J. Hanna upon "Christian Science, the Religion of the Bible," many being present from Manchester and other places.Prof. Hermann S. Hering, First Reader of the church, in opening the service, said in part,—

We are very highly honored by the presence of one of Concord's foremost and most respected citizens, who will introduce the lecturer of the evening. I have the pleasure of presenting the Hon. James O. Lyford of Concord.

In introducing Judge Hanna, Mr. Lyford spoke in part as follows:—
