I have always, since childhood, thought it the duty of every one to help their fellow-beings when they were in need, and I think that by giving my testimony of healing through Christian Science others may be helped in the same way; I therefore gladly give it. About seven years ago, after having suffered for three years from stomach and bowel trouble, with their train of ills. I turned to Christian Science. I had been taking medicine six times daily for these ailments, and besides these I had an internal growth, which the doctors told me could not be cured except by the use of the knife. As I felt the result of an operation to be very doubtful, I was in despair, and I came to Christian Science, thinking that it would do me no harm if it did me no good, once more proving that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." I sought a practitioner, threw away all material remedies, and was healed of the stomach and bowel trouble in one present treatment. Since my healing I have eaten anything I wish, without restriction as to quality or quantity, and with no ill results.
Under continued treatment for the abnormal growth, that also disappeared. At the end of two months I was a well woman, and have since remained so without the use of any material means. I have also learned how to help myself and others. Best of all is the mental and spiritual uplift gained by studying the Christian Science text-book. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. It is indeed a "Key to the Scriptures." Before studying it, I read the Bible from a material standpoint: now I study it with spiritual understanding.
I am thankful for all of the Christian Science literature, for the Sentinel and Journal, and the lectures are very helpful. I can express only in works my gratitude for this healing truth, which teaches us our relation to God as His children, and which gives us dominion over all things, as promised in the Bible.
