The Beacon

Our critic's argument that drugs are created by God for man's benefit, seems to be rather faulty in view of the fact that, according to the Gospel record, Christ Jesus, who came to do the will of God, did not use drugs in healing the sick, and did not recommend them to his disciples and followers. The use of drugs may temporarily alleviate pain, and remove disease for the time being, but permanent and thorough cures can only be brought about by the exercise of spiritual power and law, which emanate from that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus."

Deep in the wood where the goldenrod glows,
Tangled 'mid branches of sweetest wild rose,
There is a temple of worship, to me
Greater than castle of builded tree.

For only the purest in heart can find
Beauties of God in a vine entwined,
Only the meekest in thought can see
God's man, made perfect as bud on tree.
