I am thankful for this opportunity to express in part...
I am thankful for this opportunity to express in part what Christian Science as taught by our dear Leader. Mrs. Eddy, has done for me. For nearly three years I suffered with a disease of the knee-joints, although using all kinds of home remedies and trying different medicines. The joints were becoming worse all the time, however, and for months I could not walk at all. I had different doctors and different treatment; sometimes I was hopeful and again in despair. Two of our best doctors said there was really no hope for me—that I was too old, being fifty-five years of age at that time.
This was a very sad and discouraging state of affairs, as I am compelled to support myself, but at this time I learned of a friend who had been healed through Christian Science, and I was soon ready to take up this great and blessed truth. Oh, if I could only tell all that it has been to me, but words fail me! After a very few treatments I was able to walk as well as ever before, and I have also ridden a bicycle the past two summers. My work calls for much walking, which I have been able to do winter and summer, for nearly three years since my healing through Christian Science.
But this bodily healing which I have received is not to be compared with the spiritual healing.—the peace, the joy, the love, and the harmony that is to be found in this blessed truth! It is indeed the peace which passes mortal man's understanding. My longing desire is to be more worthy to bear the name of Christian Scientist.
