I was healed through Christian Science in September, 1902, and feel it a pleasure as well as a duty to give this testimony to the benefit I have received, with the hope that it may help some one who is in despair. I had been considered an invalid for several years, and suffered untold misery, physically and mentally. When I appealed to Christian Science I had reached the stage where I thought there was no help for me this side of the grave, and I had no hope for the future as I was very doubtful about there being a God. I even felt that if there was one, I feared to meet Him, but thank God that condition has been changed. I am now trying every day to become better acquainted with Him, since I know that the grave of which I always had a horror is not a stepping-stone to heaven, harmony.

Several prominent doctors had pronounced my trouble a dreaded disease of the bowels, supposed to have been inherited. My mother passed on when I was a very small child, and two sisters and a brother succumbed to the fear of this disease in a few years after her death, while the fear of it was strongly held over me. Here I want to say that I thank and love the doctors who tried to help me in those days of suffering. They were always kind and attentive, did everything they could to restore me to health, and I appreciate their efforts. The years spent in their care taught me a good lesson, namely, that without God man can do nothing. They labored faithfully for about two years, and my husband spent a great deal of money for medical treatment, and spent it freely, in the hope of prolonging my life. I was treated only three weeks by a Christian Science practitioner, and was healed.

Many other discords have been overcome by Christian Science, and I feel that I have great cause to be thankful to God, the giver of all good, also to the one through whom He has revealed this great truth; and I am indeed very grateful.—Mrs. Emilie Harvey, Griffin, N. C.
