As one rescued from hopeless sickness and misery, I...
As one rescued from hopeless sickness and misery, I wish to tell of my healing through the ministrations of Christian Science. For over fifteen long years I was an invalid, and during most of this time was unable to do even my most necessary housework. During these years I was at great expense for medical treatment, being under the care of four physicians, yet I received but little benefit. Stomach trouble in its worst form, together with many other disorders, held me down so that I could neither eat nor drink without suffering intense pain. My physicians told me that hot water must ever be my only drink. I suffered day and night, with scarcely any sleep. It was thought best by one of my physicians to have me undergo an operation, while another thought it too great a risk. They all advised me to treat myself as I would a child and thus live as long as possible.
In this condition Christian Science found me. I took twenty-three treatments, and received immediate benefit. I can now eat what is set before me, while my sleep is as sweet and refreshing as that of a babe. After all those years of misery I was healed in a short time and at a small expense. I am very grateful for the blessings received through this wonderful truth. I have found that "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, does indeed unlock the Bible, which had always been a sealed book to me. By our text-book the Master's teaching has been made clear and practical for all our needs.
Mrs. Mary E. Allen, Sheboygan, Wis.
