It behooves me in my new sense of things to express in some way my gratitude to divine Love for the beautiful healing work which has been and is being done in my behalf, though my acknowledgment seems tardy. I can say with St. John, "I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea"—no more sea of pain, of fear, of false things. About six years ago I was so near the brink of things, mentally and physically, that even to-day the memory of it is sometimes vivid to the human sense. There is no gain in enumerating the days of pain and fear; the gain comes in knowing that through conscientious striving, earnest desire, and the prayers of myself and other workers in Science, I can happily acknowledge that Christian Science is healing me. It is likewise fitting me for God's work in the healing of others. My sense of life has been transformed. The one slight bodily ailment, which was seemingly the last to yield, has, I feel certain, made me a more earnest student of Christian Science, as it has made me work for myself, a thing I seemed disinclined to do a few years ago. I am a daily student of the Bible and of Science and Health, and am thankful for the great blessing that Christian Science has brought to me, turning my thoughts from the world and the lusts thereof, and bringing me peace. My deep gratitude goes out to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful patience in this work.
May McArthur Price, Chicago, Ill.
After seventeen years of invalidism, suffering all the time from a supposedly incurable disease, I was healed in the spring of 1891, by Christian Science, in less than three weeks. I had suffered from female trouble and extreme nervousness. During that time I had been under the care of four experienced physicians,—one in Boston, two in Chicago, and one in Evanston, Ill., where I was living at the time I was healed. The physicians did what they could for me, but they all said the same thing, viz.; that they could relieve the pain, but could not cure me. Since being healed in Christian Science I have been perfectly well and strong, able to do anything I wish to do; never having to think whether it is hard or not. I wish to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for this wonderful truth, which is doing so much for me all the time, as all I am or ever expect to be I owe to Christian Science, even life itself.
