I became interested in Christian Science in 1905. For several years previous to that time I was suffering from hip and spinal trouble, and had been under the care of several prominent physicians, but grew worse all the time. In July of 1903 I underwent an X-ray examination, and a few days later I was put in a plaster-of-paris cast. When this cast was taken off I was put into a nickel brace, which was very heavy. I wore the brace day and night for two weeks, at the end of which time I had become so very lame that the brace was taken off and my left shoe was built up four inches.
In July, 1905, I began taking Christian Science treatment, and in August I took off my high shoe and wore both shoes alike, but still I limped. One day in November I started to walk, and to my surprise I did not limp a bit. No one knows how happy I am for what Truth has done and is doing for me and for my mother all the time. I am thankful that I know a little of the blessed truth. I have had other demonstrations, one of which was made without any personal help. After having worn glasses for five years, I took them off last June and have had no need of them since. This healing has been a very great comfort to me.
I am indeed grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the wondrous light that she has been the means of giving us. It is now my privilege and hope to bring the same truth to others.—Effie B. Nichols, Corona, Cal.
