In recognition of the help and strength derived from the testimony of others, I gladly tell of the good that has come to me through Christian Science. Six years ago, through the reading of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of stomach trouble and the fear of eating many kinds of food. By the daily study of the Bible and this book my consciousness is gradually being redeemed from sickness, selfishness, fear, and the many kindred errors of the human mind. My thought goes out in love and gratitude to our dear Leader for all she has done and is doing for mankind. While expressing this gratitude her loving admonition in Science and Health comes to my thought: "Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks" (Science and Health, p. 3), thus leading to more perfect obedience to the Bible commands: "Preach the gospel," "heal the sick, ... cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."
