There are no words that can express my gratitude to God for what Christian Science had done for me and mine. For eleven years I was afflicted with many plagues,—female trouble, constipation, catarrh, etc. I had given up all hope of recovery, had been told by physicians that I could not be cured, so I told my husband to prepare himself to give me up, and prayed to be taken out of my suffering.

Just at this time—the darkest hour—a friend called and asked my husband to try Christian Science. I had little hope of its doing me any good, but the next day a practitioner was called, and I took my last dose of medicine. When she came all was silence for a few moments; then she took my Bible,—which impressed me, as I had heard that Christian Scientists used a Bible of their own,—and during her reading of it a new light dawned upon me. I saw that all God made was good, therefore He never afflicted me. I was free from pain. When she was leaving she told me to read the 91st Psalm that evening. I had my husband place me in a comfortable position to read, and I read it over twice. I was reading it the third time when I felt every evil leave me, and I praised God, for I was healed. The next morning I attended to my household duties, have enjoyed good health ever since, and I do thank God for the light and understanding He has given me through Christian Science, as taught by Mrs. Eddy.
