It is about seventeen years since I became interested in Christian Science. At that time I was suffering with a felon. I had not been free from pain for several days and nights. It had been lanced and the physicians said it would have to be again, and that it might be many days before I had much rest. That night one of my neighbors came in and I told her how I was suffering. She said I need not suffer longer if I was willing to be healed by Truth. I had never heard that she was a Christian Scientist, but I was willing to try anything. She treated me and the pain was soon gone. When I told my husband about it he laughed and said, "Time will tell whether the pain returns or not." Time did tell. I retired early and never slept better. I did not suffer any more and my hand healed rapidly. The next morning this lady explained about the treatment, and gave me some reading. I have been interested ever since and have been healed of several ailments. The demonstration above referred to has made me feel that I ought to acknowledge what Truth has done for me. I am the person alluded to [above] by Mrs. Phillips. I think the experience was needed, as for some time before this I would think, and say, after reading of remarkable cures, Why do we not have some of these wonderful demonstrations? I was almost doubting the power and love of God.
I wish I could describe my feelings on this Sunday, after awakening to consciousness, but words fail me. I had a sense of such peace and rest. I was perfectly happy, and as I looked around upon my friends they, too, looked happy, I did not know what had happened to me until told, but I now think that my faith will never waver again.
I am sincerely grateful to our Leader, and I ask each day that divine Love will lead me in the way I should go.
