It is nearly six years since a copy of Science and Health was given me by my dear brother. I did not then know that it was the answer to my prayer for light, but as I studied it I found it did indeed reveal the true meaning of the Scriptures, and I should have loved it had it never healed disease, for the spiritual rest and peace it gave, but at the beginning of my study I had such conclusive proof that Christian Science heals disease that I have never doubted since. Among the first demonstrations was the healing of our baby, then two years old. He had had lung trouble twice before and our fear was very great, for the doctor had said he probably would never outgrow these attacks. This time he seemed to be taken ill very suddenly, and when Christian Science treatment began he had been for three days and nights in a high fever, but in a half hour from that time he was quietly sleeping. In another half hour he was up, dressed, and walking out of doors, and was perfectly well from that time. I felt that we were in the presence of Him who "spake and it was done." I am very grateful for all the blessings Christian Science has brought us, also to dear Mrs. Eddy for her loving, unselfish work.
