In noticing the question asked by some who are opposed...
In noticing the question asked by some who are opposed to Christian Science, as to who had diagnosed the case reported to be healed by this method, I wish to mention a case of healing by Christian Science in our own family where a physician had diagnosed the case. After the regular physician had had the case for two weeks, we were told that we could call any other physician we chose, as the child, three years of age, could not get well,—at least, if she did, that she would never know anything. As we were just looking into Christian Science, I asked my brother, the father of the child, to try its healing power, which he did, with the result that after the third treatment the child returned to consciousness, after having taken no notice of anything for ten days. With the seventh treatment she was healed, and to-day, after seventeen years of robust health, she shows no signs of ever having had a brain affliction. I can vouch for the foregoing statement in every particular, as the child is my niece, was born in our home, and lived with us until five years of age. She visited us recently and enjoyed attending the Christian Science church, although her mother is a homeopathic physician in Colorado.—Mary B. Cushman, Lockport, N. Y.
