In 1888 I was pronounced incurable from heart disease...

In 1888 I was pronounced incurable from heart disease by my physician. For ten years I had been a great sufferer. I was attended by skilled doctors, and after failing to heal me, they advised change of climate. I accordingly tried different places, and stayed for long periods, but these changes were of no lasting benefit and were a great expense. When I came to Washington, thoroughly discouraged, I concluded to submit to the inevitable. I was stricken down again, and then the doctors who held a consultation concluded that the case was of such long standing that nothing more could be done.

At this time a friend who was under Christian Science treatment heard of this verdict, came to see me, and asked me to try Christian Science. I had become very skeptical by this time, but my family begged me to try it, which I finally did. I did not take treatment, but began the study of Science and Health, and in three weeks was well. I have been in perfect health for fifteen years; have never taken any medicine in all this time, and have also been able to help others.

My daily prayer is that God will bless Mrs. Eddy, who has given to a waiting world this blessed truth which makes free indeed.—Mrs. Lucy E. Jordan, Port Angeles, Wash.
