I was told by my doctor that I had at the longest about three months to live, but that if I would go to florida I might stand it for one year, though this was very doubtful. I was said to have consumption in its worst form,—one lung entirely gone and the other in a very critical state. I also had an internal cancer of the head. I had lost the hearing in the right ear, from which large pieces of bone had passed. Then I began suffering with my feet, the bleeding kept them in such a state that there did not seem to be any bones in them. A trained nurse told me that it was impossible to heal them. It was certainly wonderful, but they were healed, and I now have full and perfect use of them. I also had a good deal of trouble with my left arm and hand; now I hardly know which hand it was that troubled me. My first entrance in the Christian Science rooms was to carry a few flowers. I had heard that they loved to have them. I always had tried to alleviate the sufferings of others, for I knew what I was passing through, and in this desire to cheer some one help came. We always receive more than we give. I know that I do. Malachi, 3 : 10, has certainly been proved true in my case.
My healing came by reading our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, except that I had one treatment for the cancer, when it came away from the head. That was five years ago, and I have not since had the least trouble from it, or from the lungs. I do indeed feel very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for giving us this blessed truth. My desire is to prove my gratitude by deeds, and I know that divine Love will ever guide me.
