About three years ago I was healed at once of rheumatism, through Christian Science. For two years prior my suffering had been intense; at times I would be helpless for days, the slightest touch would occasion pain, and every joint seemed to be affected. Through the application of material remedies I would be relieved a short time only. After having been afflicted in this way so long, and having tried every material remedy that I felt would afford relief. I got no better but gradually grew worse: each succeeding attack became more severe and frequent. Because of the severe suffering I was persuaded to try Christian Science, believing it could do me no harm if I received no benefit, but fearing criticism I had the practitioner call at night. At the time I was suffering from a fearful attack; my left hand and limb were so swollen I could hardly move them. The practitioner came at eight o'clock and gave me a treatment, staying nearly an hour, explaining Christian Science, and thus clearing away my prejudice. About ten o'clock I was placed in bed and for about a half hour I continued to suffer unspeakable agony. I then went to sleep and did not awake until morning, when I realized my freedom from pain. Since then I have had no return of the old trouble.
Only by living close to God do I feel I can express my deep, heartfelt gratitude for all that I have received through Christian Science.
Miss Edith C. Damewood, Ogden, Utah.
