A Generous Gift

Pittsburg, Pa., January 2, 1906.

Mrs. Mary Baker G. Eddy, Pleasant View, Concord, N. H.

Our Dear Leader:—At the annual meeting of First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Pittsburg, Pa., held on the evening of November 27, reports from the several departments of the church work were read. These reports indicate a marked increase in interest on the part of this community in Christian Science. There has been during the past year a very gratifying growth in the membership of the church, as well as in the attendence at its public services.

Our gratitude for God's loving care of this church, so marked in all its history, and gratitude for the gift from divine Love of our beautiful church edifice, which was dedicated last April, found expression from many lips at the Thanksgiving service. From many overflowing hearts came tributes of love for you, our Leader, whose untiring devotion and labors have blessed countless lives.

On the Sunday following this service a special Thanksgiving offering for The Mother Church was taken. This was supplemented by the regular offering which is taken on the second Sunday of each month. As a result of these two Sunday collections it was our happy privilege to send to Mr. Chase, the Treasurer, a draft for fifty-five hundred and eleven dollars. This made the total of our contribution to The Mother Church Building Fund twelve thousand seven hundred and forty-one dollars.

These figures are symbols that inadequately measure our love for you; our desire to be obedient to your leadership, and our joy in being permitted to take a part in the building of the enlarged Mother Church.

Yours gratefully and lovingly,
Albert E. Pierpoint, Clerk.
