My gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me,...
My gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, prompts me to give my testimony, hoping that it may be a help to some one in an hour of need. For eight years I had worn glasses to do my work. I was subject to severe headaches and unable to read print. Two years ago I consulted a specialist, who said that muscles had been strained, and I was told that I must give up my position at once, that to continue in the work I was doing would render my eyes useless. With a great deal of inconvenience and suffering I retained my position for two years longer, at the end of which time I was forced to give it up. At this time another specialist was consulted, who gave the same verdict as the first one. Glasses were again fitted. which proved of very little benefit. I was finally told that an operation might give relief, but that it was uncertain. All this time, my sister, who had been healed in Christian Science, was urging me to try it. Finally, after having tried a great many other things. I decided to give it a trial. With the very first treatment I was healed of a trouble from which I had suffered for many years, and found I could walk and work without fatigue. After three weeks I took off my glasses, though with a great deal of misgiving, and at the end of three months I could use my eyes with perfect freedom. Hay fever of fifteen years' standing was also overcome. I am now filling a position in the same line of work which I had been advised it would be impossible for me to do. Surely "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich. and he addeth no sorrow with it."
