Fourteen years ago I sought Christian Science as a practical Christianity, and the blessing of instantaneous physical healing was bestowed upon me by divine Love. The spiritual healing and uplifting has been slow but sure. It would have been difficult to find anyone more discouraged and despairing than I was at this time. I was bitterly dissatisfied with my lack of spiritual understanding; for almost five years I had been a slave to inflammatory rheumatism; we almost one year under the care of an oculist—one eye focused incorrectly, and I had to wear glasses. At this time it was the fifth week of an attack of the grip, and these were some of the vexing problems before me.

At the time of my first lesson in Christian Science the rhematism, eye disease, and the grip disappeared. Glasses were immediately given up, although the oculist said that I would be obliged to wear them again; but I have never had any use for them since. The rheumatism has never returned; and an attack of the grip, about eight years ago, was met without the knowledge of a single member of the family.

I had been a member of an orthodox church, though for ten years prior to accepting Christian Science I was very discontented, and investigated various doctrines, but none of them appealed to my reason. I became confused, and declared to myself, I do not know anything about God. After the first careful reading of Science and Health, I closed the book and all I could say was, Christian Science is to know that God is all. I thank God for Christian Science, for our beloved Leader, and for our text-book, which has made the Bible a storehouse of a loving Father's promises.—Mrs. Mary Spargo Fraser, Cleveland, O.
