It is always a pleasure to me to tell of the healing and happiness I have received through the understanding of Christian Science. Every inch of progress I make enables me to appreciate more clearly Mrs. Eddy and her life, and to love her more tenderly. When I first saw a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I knew nothing whatever of Christian Science, so that when I began to read the book I had no prejudices to combat.

I could not accept or love the concept of God that I had been taught. I wanted a God whom I could worship for His justice, and a God who was all-powerful and not in any sort of partnership with evil. When I read Science and Health I immediately saw that its teachings were all toward proving that such a God did exist, and this delighted me greatly. I began to study the Bible, which I had for years doubted or scorned, together with Science and Health, and within a week I realized that I was free from dyspepsia and nervousness, which had enslaved me for fifteen years. My hasband read the book at the same time I did, and he, too, was healed of dyspepsia of twelve years' standing.

It was in 1896 that we first read Science and Health and were healed. and since then, although we have continued to live in the swamp region of Louisiana, where malaria is supposed to reign, we have excellent health, and have no cause nor desire to take medicine of any sort. In our family of three, during these nine years, there has been overcome, besides the nervousness and dyspepsia mentioned, biliousness, constipation, sick-headaches, whooping-cough. chicken-pox, measles, chills and fevers, colds, and such ailments as are accepted by the world as household necessities. Business reverses have been met and overcome, and teachery and deceit have been uncovered and escaped from.
