Most of the highest truth of life is old-fashioned

Most of the highest truth of life is old-fashioned. Brotherhood is none the less a desirable sentiment because the word has been in the mouths of men for two thousand years. Sometimes we serve more by a smile than by a brilliant sentence or a deed meant to win applause. We are ever too anxious to exalt the self and to think the world is going wrong if we fail in our petty personal schemes. Broaden out. Few of us appreciate how much the seasoning of charity sweetens the cup of life. Forgetfulness of self and helpfulness for others constitute the philosophy of happiness.—Exchange.
