It is now almost two years since my attention was attracted to Christian Science, through a dear friend who gave me some Sentinels to read. My little son, then seven years old, was lying at the point of death with lung trouble, and our physician said that it was only a question of a short time before he would pass on. We were persuaded to try Christian Science as a last resort. My husband consulted a practitioner on Monday, and on Wednesday the child got up, dressed himself, went up and down stairs, and never was in bed again on account of illness. We bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and through its study my husband was healed of sick-headache and dyspepsia that he had had all his life. My eldest son was healed of kidney and stomach trouble that he had been afflicted with ever since he had the scarlet fever ten years before, and I was healed of severe heart trouble and several other complaints. All this took place within a short time after we began the study of Science and Health, in connection with the Bible.
Since that time, with a few exceptions when we thought it best to call a Christian Science practitioner, we have been able to overcome all the ailments that have come up in our family,—some of which, to mortal sense, seemed very severe,—and also several accidents, by studying the Bible and our text-book, and understanding God aright. All our many physical healings, however, seem small as compared to the spiritual uplifting and the understanding of man's true relation to God. The Bible seems a new book to me.
Mere words fail to express my love and gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for the revelation of the truth to this age. What joy it is to know and feel the ever-presence of divine Love.—MRS. ADDIE E. KELLER, Spokane, Wash.
