When I came to Christian Science for help, now over...
When I came to Christian Science for help, now over ten years ago, I had been in wretched health for several years. I had been treated by many physicians, in five different States, and none of them ever gave me any hope of being a strong woman again. They insisted on an operation for internal troubles, but said even that would never make me entirely well. I went to a hospital in Chicago and lay in bed three months after the operation, but there was not much benefit derived from this treatment. About a year later I was brought to Christian Science through my husband being healed of tonsilitis while I was away from home. When I returned he told me of his healing, and I at once asked for treatment. In two weeks I was a different woman; I was able to do work I had not dared to do for years. Christian Science healed me of many ailments, among them rheumatism, neuralgia, anaemia, constipation, heart trouble, besides the internal troubles for which I had been operated upon. I can say Christian Science has done more than heal me physically; it has given me an understanding of God, of ever-present Love, and it helps in every time of need. I am striving daily to be a better wife and mother, and am grateful beyond expression to our dear Leader for our text-book, Science and Health. It brings blessings to me and my little ones daily. When they have any ailment they run for the book and ask me to read to them. They have been healed of earache, headache, and many other ailments by reading aloud to them. It is our companion, and I could not get along a day without it. It explains the Bible, and the Lesson-Sermons do me much good.
M love and gratitude go out to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, for this grand truth,—Christian Science. I have been lifted from the deepest sorrow by Christian Science, and I can never be grateful enough.
