I would like to give my testimony in the hope that it may help others. I have been a student of Christian Science eighteen months. I came to it for physical healing, or rather it found me. as I didn't know anything about it, but a dear friend told me about it when I went home to my father's in Gothenburg, Neb.
I had had neuralgia and stomach trouble for a year, and that caused nervous prostration and hysterics, and I was the most miserable woman that ever walked: but I thank God that Christian Science found me and cured me of all those troubles, and also of constipation and heart trouble, and it was mostly done through my own study of Science and Health. I had only three treatments from the practitioner. I have often been discouraged because the healing seemed so slow to me, but I felt that I could not give up the truth, because there was nothing to go back to, and I knew it was the truth. Jesus says. "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
There is no organized society here and but one family besides myself now. My husband is not a a believer in any church, but I have helped him by the denial of error so much, that he does not think of taking medicine as he used to. What I have the most reason to be thankful for, is the spiritual uplifting. When Christian Science found me I was "having no hope, and without God in the world," but now I have found the "living and true God." Who forgiveth all to our Leader and to the faithful friends here and in Gothenburg who have given me encouragement, perhaps more than they knew, for I was sadly in need of it, and I pray that I may let the light "so shine" that others will see the good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
