I became interested in Christian Science about nine years...
I became interested in Christian Science about nine years ago. At that time I was suffering much, both mentally, and physically. The prominent symptoms were sleeplessness, dyspepsia, nervousness, and melancholia. These were my tormentors both day and night, and they also furnished me with terrible forebodings for the future. I had tried material remedies faithfully without receiving any permanent relief from my suffering. The period during which I had the above experience lasted about thirty-five years of my life.
About this time I became interested in Christian Science, and soon began to take treatments from a faithful practitioner. I had not taken treatments long before I began to improve slowly. As my understanding increased, and I became thoroughly interested in the study of Christian Science literature and tried faithfully to put its teachings into practice, I found that the false claims of the material senses, which seemed so real, began to yield slowly but surely, until I can now say that I enjoy freedom from these discordant influences.
Since I came into Science my wife was healed of chronic bronchitis, by reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." She was also healed of a severe attack of erysipelas, which made itself manifest by a terribly swollen face and ears. She was completely healed in a few days. We have had many other demonstrations in our family, and have been enabled to help others also, through the understanding of the blessed truth.
