The last list of donors to the Macedonian relief fund included twelve Christian Science congregations, and their donations were very substantial in many cases. Not having any domestic or foreign missionary societies, this new sect naturally must find an outlet for the spirit of altruism in some way, and to the credit of its members, be it said that they are giving generously and very generally throughout the country to the relief of the homeless, foodless, and scantily clad folk whom Turkish persecution and the rigors of a winter season have thrown on the bounty of Christendom.

The Christian Scientists' responses to this particular call come from a wider area of territory than most such appeals issued in New England, for which Messrs. Kidder, Peabody & Co. act as agents, usually tap. Cleveland, O., Bloomington, Ill., Chickasha, I. T., Fort Smith, Ark., Fort Worth, Tex., St. Paul, Minn., and Salt Lake City, Utah, are represented on the list of Christian Science Churches contributing.—Boston Transcript.
