I am to-day alive through the teachings of Christian Science, which I know is the new-old truth that Jesus taught when here on earth.

My little boy and I live together, he being almost twelve years old. One morning I closed my kitchen up, lit the natural gas in my range, and worked all the morning. I noticed an odor, but gave it no thought. I had my Science and Health on the table with "Miscellaneous Writings," and, as I always do, would drop down and read, then get up and continue my work.

Some time before noon I was asphyxiated, and remained an hour in a chair into which I had dropped. When my little boy came, two of the neighbors came in. I refused to have a doctor, and a young lady in the building went, at my request, for a Christian Science practitioner. I asked her to tell him what had occurred, and to say that I was all right, I thought. Very soon the practitioner came, and in the mean time they had gotten me to bed. At five o'clock I was up and dressed and went to my landlord's door, and they said they were truly glad to see me. I had told his wife when she came in to assist me to bed that Christian Science had saved me. To him I said, "They can all say what they please, but god saved me," to which he said, "I guess so." The next morning I attended First Church, and then went to the house of my cousin who had doctored me for ten years previous to my healing in Christian Science. I told the doctor what had happened, and he looked very serious and said, "What did you do?" I replied, "I used my Science and my practitioner did the same when he came."
