Several cases of small-pox broke out in The Young...

Several cases of small-pox broke out in The Young Woman's Friendly Club in Denver, Col., where I was boarding last May. Although the place was not quarantined, every one was required to be vaccinated or leave, and all the cases were removed to the pest-house.

I had been feeling badly for three or four weeks, and had tried to meet the disturbing condition through my understanding of Science, but gradually growing worse, I was finally compelled to ask my teacher for help.

After telling her how I felt, I ended by saying, "I don't want to go to the pest-house," and she replied that it was not necessary for me to have small-pox.

Having given me a treatment, she advised me to be vaccinated, not because it was a necessity in Science, but because they required it where I was boarding.

There was already a slight breaking out on the body, but she assured me it would go no farther. That evening I called upon the physician to whom she recommended me, was vaccinated, and in a short time was feeling as well as ever, for the vaccination did not work, and every symptom of the disease disappeared.

Some of the worst cases were taken to the pest-house after I commenced treatment, and although the physician who vaccinated me strongly advised my moving at once, I remained at the Club for more than a month, until it was convenient for me to move to my present boarding-place.

God is indeed our refuge and strength, and though "a thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand." "it shall not come nigh thee."

With the help of Truth I am striving to demonstrate the "stationary power, stillness, and strength," commended by Mrs. Eddy in "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 117), and as I realize more and more my place in the infinite Mind, unhindered by the limitations of either time or space, the more I am able to manifest those qualities.

Mrs. Isabelle Morrison, Denver, Col.
