For seven years I had been an invalid, and for two and a half I was forbidden by the doctors to stand or walk. One day a neighbor told me she wished me to try Christian Science treatment, and after thinking about it, I consented to have a practitioner come. When I saw her bright face aglow with interest in my case, I felt I would trust her method of healing.

In a day I was up, and in a week I dismissed the servant and was able to do all the housework. I still feared, however, that I might have a relapse, so I continued to call for treatment occasionally for four weeks.

Twelve years have passed since then and there has been no return of disease. I can truly say that I was strengthend, made happy and free, and enabled to "Rise, in the conscious strength of the spirit of Truth, to overthrow the plea of matter, or mortal mind, arrayed against the supremacy of Spirit" (Science and Health, p. 390).
