Knowing how it helps and encourages a beginner in Christian Science to read the many demonstrations published in the Sentinel, I feel it a duty to relate a demonstration made in our home, which to my mind has settled all existing doubt as to the efficacy of Christian Science. On the night of August 14 we had a little gathering at our home, and my wife made lemonade in a large zinc water bucket, and as same was not all used on that occasion she left what remained in the bucket over night. The next day she became thirsty, and not wishing to go out to the cistern for water she drank a glass of the lemonade which had been left over night in the zinc bucket.

After the lapse of a few minutes she began to ill. and later became deathly sick and according to human belief every symptom of poisoning was manifested. However, she immediately began to realize the ever-presence of knowing that no harm could befall her, encircled as she was by the arms of divine Love. In a short while she commenced to vomit, after which she felt very much better, and in the course of a few moments the demonstration was complete in every respect. While my wife has been in Science for several years, I am a young recruit in this great army of Christian workers, striving daily to follow more closely in the footsteps of Jesus, and this demonstration has added strength and courage to my efforts. This is only one of the many demonstrations made, and we are indeed thankful for this knowledge of the Christ-love.
