At a well-attended Wednesday evening meeting at Second Church of Christ, Winnipeg, the following were some of the testimories given : —

A lady who had been an invalid for a year told of her successful treatment in Science. She also mentioned two encouraging letters she had received; one was from a lady in Stratford, Ontario, who, while visiting in Manitoba, had been relieved through Science treatment of a complication of diseases and was now telling of Christian Science in and around her own town, and others were becoming interested and many had sent for treatment through her recommendation; the other letter was from a lady in the far West who is a Christian Scientist also. She told of an insane woman visiting at her home, and during her stay they gave her Science and Health to read. When she returned home her husband was amazed and delighted to find that his wife, who had been mentally deranged for a year, was now perfectly sane. He, of course, was anxious to know what had cured her, and he was told it was through reading the Christian Science text-book.

A lady spoke of human sympathy. She said even some people who were not Scientists knew it to be a very bad thing. Some people had the notion that Christian Scientists were cold-hearted, and indifferent to the suffering. This opinion is quite wrong. There is no class of people who enjoy so much as do Scientists, to allay pain, to uplift the fallen, and to destroy sin and discord, but they know that in order to do this they must hold in thought harmony and health as the realities, and so by holding all in thought as healthy and harmonious they help to extricate them from their suffering and discord, whereas human sympathy would prolong it and defeat the very object in view.
