Order for Concord Granite
The Daily Patriot
Mr. S. S. Beman, a leading architect of Chicago, was in town yesterday and placed a seventy-thousand dollar order for granite with one of the local granite companies, to be used in the construction of a beautiful library building in the west, for which he is architect. He and his wife are devoted Christian Scientists; both spoke enthusiastically of the beauty and charm of Concord and our little Christian Science Hall. Mr. Beman designed the plans for the three Christian Science churches that have been built in Chicago, each having a seating capacity of about fifteen hundred.A correction has been made in the July 3, 1902 Sentinel: "In our issue of June 19 we quoted from The Daily Patriot, of Concord, to the effect that Mr. S. S. Beman was the architect of the three Christian Science churches of Chicago. Our neighbor was in error, and we are glad to make this correction at Mr. Beman's request. Mr. Garden of Chicago was the architect of the beautiful 'West side' church."
