It is with pleasure that I give my testimonial, for I deem it but just to acknowledge the good I have received from Christian Science. About fifteen years ago I said many times that if any one could cure me of a rupture I would give him a hundred dollars. The rupture was caused by a fall when a child. When I was twenty years of age it became quite serious and troublesome, and I was obliged to wear a truss all the time.
Four years ago, while at work, I jumped off from a machine about four feet high, which caused more trouble. The physicians finally concluded that an operation was my only hope, although my wife begged them not to take me to the hospital, and I resisted with all the strength I possessed. In the mean time the doctors had gone to get the operating room in readiness for me.
In this extreme moment, which proved to be God's opportunity, my wife remembered Christian Science, having had Christian Science treatment at the birth of our youngest child. She immediately sent for a Scientist, who arrived on the scene just after the ambulance had arrived to take me to the hospital. The Scientist took in the situation at once, and realized that divine Intelligence alone would govern, assuring me that I should remain at home if I preferred Christian Science treatment.
