For some time I have felt that as an acknowledgment of my gratitude to God for the manifestation of His healing power in our home, also in this vicinity, I should contribute a little from this field that may be encouraging to those seeking the Truth.
I shall ask space for only one case, which is that of a babe a little over a year old. On May 24, 1901, I was sent for by the parents of the child, who thought their loved one was passing away. Several who had seen the babe before Christian Science was appealed to said it could not live. Then all material aid was set aside and Christian Science resorted to, as there seemed to be no other chance of help. On arriving at the home I found the child in a very critical condition. Its face was so much swollen that both eyes were closed tight and could not be opened, and the babe was lying motionless.
I saw the necessity of implicit confidence in God to do the work. Upon returning to the house again a few hours after having given the first treatment I found that the child could move one eyelid. Next day both eyes were open, and the swelling was much reduced. In four days the child was perfectly healed.
