Sin Healing
One of the greatest needs of all who are striving to be Christian Scientist, is a constant, far-reaching protection from the suggestions of mortal mind. Our worthiness to bear the name Christian Scientist is not so much revealed by our mental grasp of the Word, our willing sacrifices, or our healing work, as by the mental attitude and moral tone of our daily lives.
Corrected lives are the strongest missionaries for the truth of our religion. We must daily know that the real mission of Christian Science is to destroy the sinful beliefs of mankind. We must remember that healing of error—sin—requires the uncovering and facing of our own mental operations, and the ability to stand and meet with understanding and love, the revenge which sin endeavors to hurl upon its destroyer.
"It is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost or Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing" (Science and Health, p. 496), yet faith in God's power to heal will not cover needless discrepancies between our daily living, and the moral demand of our declarations of Truth. Let us empty ourselves of the world's standards daily, that we may rise to that holy consciousness that can penetrate and destroy the mask of evil, through its oneness with the Truth it utters.
