Christian Science has done much for me
Christian Science has done much for me. For years I suffered with sick headache and weak stomach. In 1896 I had serious stomach trouble. I tried all kinds of medical help, but they all failed to give me relief. In 1898 I was afflicted with cancer of throat. I was attending Christian Science meetings, but at that time was careless and indifferent. When the doctor told me that an operation should be performed, and it was doubtful it I survived, I said I would not submit to an operation. When my Christian Science friends heard what I had done, they said, "Tell her to stick to that and it will disappear." In seven weeks I was healed, not only my throat, but also all my old complaints, among which was a frightful rupture, no sign of which is left.
Christian Science and the love of God did all this for me.—Mrs. Newell Ferris, Pipestone, Minn.
Christian Science has been "a lamp to my feet" for nearly fifteen years, my only teacher being Science and Health; and through its teaching I have been enabled to heal disease in many forms in myself and others. But to me the purifying and elevation of my own thought, has been its highest good, the fulfilment of earnest desire, the overcoming of self, the peace and joy that comes from realizing that God is an ever-present help in time of trouble, not alone in the great and overwhelming trials of life, but in common, every-day trials that lie in wait for us.
