Beginners in Christian Science

Charleston (S. C.) News and Courier

Our Master said, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." That is, blessed are the pure in thought, or consciousness, for they shall discern the Principle of goodness. The same fountain cannot send forth both sweet and bitter waters, so it would be impossible for one not having a high spiritual nature and character to make any progress along the lines of religious discovery and demonstration.

Christian Scientists are glad to note that the life of their Leader from earliest childhood has been singularly pure, devout, and loving, with an unquenchable longing to know and do God's will and a desire to help humanity.

Dr. Stevens, after speaking of protracted demonstrations and failures in treating by Scientists, says: "Either this is not the Science by which Christ healed, or these Scientists have not mastered it."
