It is about ten months since I became interested in Christian Science. A short time before that my wife had had her attention called to the subject through a neighbor, and subsequently purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." One evening, after returning from my work, she told me that she had a book she wished me to read to her. I complied with her request without asking the nature of the work she wished me to read. I think it impossible for any one to peruse Science and Health without its awakening some degree of interest in them. So it was in my case, and my interest deepened with each reading.

Shortly after I began to read the text-book, my wife desired me to attend a Sunday morning service with her. I refused the first time, but on the following Sunday went, with the result that I have not missed a Sunday service since. Gradually the new belief gained upon me, until I became thoroughly convinced of the truth of its teachings, and ready to adopt them.

For twenty-seven years before this time I had used tobacco almost constantly, and realizing that tobacco and Christian Science did not go together. I left tobacco strictly alone, and with comparative ease. Soon after I had a very severe cold, but applying the teaching of Christian Science, I found myself all right the next morning.
