I should like to give an instance of the all-protecting power of divine Love in the case of an accident which occurred to me recently. When I was out driving, my ponies shied and fell into a ditch, dragging the cart with them. I was thrown into the ditch, and the cart fell on me. I saw it coming and yet had no fear, as I was trying to realize the Truth and declare that God is all and everywhere. I got out unhurt from under the cart and, assisted by a passer-by, unharnessed the ponies, which were lying literally one on the top of the other in the ditch. It took us some time to get them free.

After the cart was pulled out we put the ponies in again, and I continued my drive as if nothing had happened. There was not even a scratch on either the cart or the ponies. When I undressed that evening I was surprised to find that my left arm, upon which the cart had fallen, was very much inflamed and swollen, and had an enormous bruise. I had no pain whatever, and until I saw it I was quite unconscious of its presence. The bruise entirely disappeared in a few days and gave me no inconvenience. I will only add my deep gratitude to Christian Science for all that it has done for me, and for the peace, health, and happiness that it has brought into my life.
