Divine Healing
The Rev. Dr. Lorimer, who recently left Tremont Temple, Boston, to accept a call to the Madison Avenue Baptist Church, New York City, preached a sermon on the subject of Divine Healing in the latter church Sunday, January 12, 1902. We have before us only newspaper extracts of the sermon, but if they correctly indicate Dr. Lorimer's remarks, they may truly be said to be remarkable and significant, coming as they do, from one who has been among the most conservative in reference to the teaching of Scripture upon the healing of physical or bodily diseases.
The following is what Dr. Lorimer is reported to have said:—
"On this theme, the Scriptures are definite and pronounced. The Almighty is over and over again presented as the source of strength and as the supreme cause of health, Not without reason is he termed 'Jehovah that health,' and various are the references to his healing mercies.
