For five years I suffered constantly, never being free from pain. Although our family physician did all he could for me, I did not get any better. I became so discouraged that I was no comfort to myself or my family. It seemed to me as though there was no help for me, and that death would be the only relief. I had given up in despair, when a dear friend came to me and asked me to try Christian Science. She talked with my husband and he wanted me to try it, so for the sake of my family I consented. I began to read the Sentinel and Journal that my friend left me and received much benefit just from reading. I decided to go to Green Bay to see a healer. I went and stated my case to her and asked her if she could help me. She said she would try. She gave me a treatment and I came back home. After a week and a half absent treatment I was healed of my many ills. I began to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the Bible seemed like a new book to me, I understood it so much better than I ever had before, and now the Bible and Science and Health are my constant guide.

About one year after being in Science one of my old troubles (heart trouble) came back. I tried to overcome it but grew steadily worse. I asked my husband to go to New London to see a healer, which he did. Several of my friends came in and stayed with me while my husband was gone. At times I became unconscious and they thought I had passed away. When my husband came he brought the healer with him. There were five standing around, fanning and rubbing me, trying to bring me back to consciousness. When the healer came into the room she began to work for me and in less than an hour I was able to breathe naturally again and was able to sit up in bed. The next morning I got up and got breakfast and walked to the depot with the healer.
