Opening Services at Portland, Ore.

We are informed by private letter that the opening services of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Portland, Ore., were not dedicatory, as might be understood from the account given in the August Journal. In the Second Reader's address it was not intended to state that the property was entirely paid for, but that there was a substantial balance on hand after all bills due at that time had been paid.
